Eagle Construction is Hiring a Shop foreman Near Marion, IN

The role Construction Shop Foreman is to coordinate the maintenance and organization of shop equipment, materials, and inventory while working with shop manager, project managers, and on-site foreman.

RESPONSIBLITIES :

  • Oversees, schedules, administers, and conducts fleet maintenance and transport
  • Inspects equipment, vehicles, and tools; performs light maintenance or coordinates with repair vendors
  • Deliver and pick up materials and equipment to jobsites
  • Maintains records
  • Inventories and track tools, equipment, and vehicles
  • Metal fabrication
  • Review work orders, assign tasks to employees and verifies quality of work performed
  • Trains and coaches shop employees
  • Procures necessary parts, tools, vehicles and equipment- ensuring cost effectiveness
  • Maintain communication with local parts and equipment dealers
  • Facilities upkeep & management
  • Organizes and maintains shop & yard
  • Performs physical hands-on work
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Experience in either a shop or construction environment
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate with field / office staff & outside vendors
  • Ability to organize, plan and supervise
  • Comfortable with computers, particularly Microsoft Excel & Outlook
  • Applicants must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass a pre-employment drug test

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Class A CDL or Class B CDL
  • Strong knowledge mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural details.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA requirements
  • Ability to establish a positive rapport and maintain good working relationships with trade contractors.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to carry out multi-task projects.
  • Ability to work well with diverse groups or individuals.

WORK LOCATION :

The job is performed in the shop yard with construction site visits as necessary. Some travel may be required.

  • Able to work in all elements of the outdoor environment which include the heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, etc. (A)

  • Capable of working in physical positions that may include kneeling, sitting, standing, squatting, bending over, etc. (A)
  • Must be able to move, carry, or position items weighing up to 75 pounds. (F)
  • Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment. (F)
  • Must be able to position one-self to work in confined spaces such as trenches, pits, manholes, attics and tunnels. (O)
  • Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces. (F)
  • Must be able to see and respond to dangerous situations. (O)
  • Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day. (A)
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. (A)
  • Must have the ability to lift and carry parcels, packages, and other items, to walk short distances, and drive a vehicle to deliver and pick up materials. (F)
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. (A)
